MCAPWA's 17th Annual Golf Classic, at Riverside Golf Course in Portland, Maine on Friday, September 6, 2013
On Friday September 6th the MCAPWA two man scramble was held at the Riverside Golf Course in Portland. This was the 17th annual MCAPWA tournament, and for the first time it was held in Southern Maine. Fifty players enjoyed a perfect day for golf. Coffee, muffins were provided for the 8:30 shot gun start. Hamburgers, hot dogs, and salads were included for lunch at the end of the tournament. A raffle was held after lunch and several players walked away with sleeves of golf balls and some even walked away with free rounds of golf and various gift cards.
Closest to the pin was awarded on two holes with Jeff Ross coming closest on hole #3 and Joe Colucci on hole #13. The longest drive for the men was won by Logan Pardilla, and Paula Bernard took the longest drive for the woman.
At the end of the day the strong pairing Jeff Ross and Joe Colucci came home with the trophy. For a list of the winners click here.
This year’s tournament was a success with MCAPWA raising close to $1,700. The chapter uses this money to fund scholarships for up and coming college students. The success of the tournament is largely due to our sponsors. We had 16 sponsors this year. For a complete list of our sponsors click here.
Finally a big shout out to Steven Bradstreet for his hard work organizing and setting up this year’s tournament. Next year the tournament will be held at Val Halla on September 5, 2014. We hope everyone returns and we also hope to see some new faces next year.
